Why Red matters
Burial: Wikily / Fextralife — each Red skull cancels a wreath before White rows can score. Red never adds positive graveyard quality.
Zombies: games.gg, Wikily, Prima, GameRant, Fextralife — each Red skull opens one zombie perk slot. Collar tier must allow at least that many Red (Bronze often cited ~5 early on). “Always remove all Red” is wrong if you’re building a worker or defender.
Pick your goal first on the calculator, then decide whether Red is a problem or a feature.
How to reduce or control Red
- Blood / Fat — Wikily: each is a 1 Red soft part. games.gg / Prima: free (or early) extracts that scrub Red. Best burial cleanup; avoid on zombie keepers if you need the Red.
- Dark Organs (games.gg) — remove first when present; they inflate Red / suppress White. Planner numeric delta is an estimate.
- Red-heavy vitals — extract Skin / Bones / Skull / Heart / Brain / Guts variants that show Red (unless they also carry more White — Prima). Implant better parts later for zombies.
- Embalming — Wikily: Injection for Corpses (−Red / +White); Solution / Injection for Zombies raises Red (injections also trade White → Red). Unverified naming Early Lye / Glue / Silver / Gold labels still appear in launch articles and our planner toggles — confirm in-game.
- Decay — Prima / games.gg: bodies left out can accumulate more Red as organs rot (useful for zombie candidates, risky for burial).
Burial vs zombie prep
Burial angle
Strip Blood/Fat, clear Dark Organs, remove Red-heavy organs when mastery allows, then stop. You do not need zero Red — tip White ahead and decorate. Full flow: burial prep / White skulls.
Zombie angle
Don’t auto-scrub every Red. Keep all six vitals intact (missing any blocks rez — GameRant / Wikily). Shape Red to the collar, harvest Red organs from fodder corpses, implant at the Autopsy Table (Prima: soft Flesh/Fat/Blood cannot be refilled the same way). Details: zombie prep.
Risks & mistakes
- Skinning or stripping White-heavy parts “for materials” can erase burial score while shifting Red the wrong way.
- Surgeon’s Error (−1W/−1R) on a zombie candidate can block resurrection — raise Anatomy first.
- Embalming with the wrong mix (zombie vs corpse) can undo a burial plan — verify UI names.
- Launch-week numbers drift — always read skulls on the table after each action.

FAQ
Should I always remove Red skulls?
No. For burial, usually scrub toward White. For zombie prep, Red maps to perk slots — shape it, don’t blindly zero it.
What’s the cheapest Red cleanup?
Blood and Fat — soft parts that each remove about 1 Red. Do those before kit-cost options on burial corpses.
Can I add soft parts back for zombies?
Prima: you cannot refill Flesh / Fat / Blood the same way on the Autopsy Table — swap hard organs / use zombie embalming instead.
Where do I simulate Red paths?
Open the calculator, set starting Red, toggle Blood/Fat/Dark Organ/embalming, and pick hard-organ outcomes.
